Documentary Research: Dziga Vertov

 

This is a small research poster I made on the film/ documentary making techniques of Dziga Vertov. I found it interesting that Vertov was influenced by the vérité filmmaking style and that he also founded a radical filmmaking group: Vertov Group. His technique in which the  themes of the doc influenced general aesthetic of the film; which Vertov kept consistent through out production, even in the case of ‘Man with a Camera’ (1929) which took four years to make. 

For my documentary I don’t think I will be be using Many of his techniques, however I may adopt some of his style as the topic I aim to address is some what controversial.
